ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Toni Faber, Dompfarrer zu St. Stephan

Lisa Huber, who was born in Carinthia, uses a clear formal language in her symbolically reduced, figurative works. The artist has adopted themes such as techniques from the iconographic tradition. She works on sacred themes in large-format wood and paper cuttings. Lisa Huber's extensive knowledge of Christian imagery and psalms is always an inspiration for her artistic work. The result is mentally complex works with an unmistakable color repertoire, such as the magnificent glass windows in the church of Fresach / Carinthia, as well as the Antonius stele and the Lenten cloth of the parish church in Gmünd in Carinthia, which shows 27 woodcuts with themes from the Old and New Testament.

The exhibition “Eins vom Andern” presents a cross-section of the artistic work of Lisa Huber. In addition to works from recent years, she shows the recently created psalm cloth for the treasury in Klosterneuburg. The artist was awarded the STRABAG Art Promotion Prize in 1996. Her work and exhibition activities have been followed continuously since then, and many of her works enrich the STRABAG Artcollection.
