The overall winner exhibition of the ART AWARD with all the award-winning works followed the second of five solo exhibitions in October 2005 by SONJA GANGL ´La storia senza fine ’in the ART LOUNGE in the STRABAG HAUS.
The elaborate drawings and stagings on the subject of “The End” (film ends) are works that are determined by media technology and material, which contain poetry, nostalgia, sharp analysis and a sense for subtle details. The aesthetics of goods, the cult of the body, art labels (Rebekka project) and art in public spaces are themes of their overall concept, which has been consistent since 1994.

The artist works mainly in the media of photography, video and computer. She combines these media approaches with classic media such as drawing or painting. The artist places the interaction between photographic and painterly structures in the creation of images not only in a formal area of ​​tension, but also in a thematic area. The content-related connection and juxtaposition of contemplation and voyeurism, desire and consumption, sexuality and "disembodied - corporeality" is merged into a highly topical extension of the painting and drawing processing of photographic material.
