Haakon Neubert (1994 Marl/DE) studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Münster. For the artist, painting is a form of refuge that reflects his interests. In his works, he deals with themes of humanity, life, social structures, but also the contemplation of art and artists who created art before him and serve as inspiration for Neubert. The young artist long asked himself who he was actually painting for and came to the conclusion that it was for the people who can be found in his paintings. Those who work, play, and go about their daily lives. Apart from the intense color choices that characterize his paintings, his works also always feature people with oversized hands, which he attributes to all his figures as a characteristic feature. The hands grasp or cling to something, which for Neubert is a metaphor for holding on per se. Haakon Neubert is the winner of the STRABAG ART Award 2025.
